About Google TPU
Google TPU is a division of Google that develops and provides advanced machine learning solutions based on its custom-designed Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). These TPUs are specifically designed for machine learning inference, offering high performance at an affordable cost. The latest iteration, Cloud TPU v5e, delivers up to 2.5 times the throughput per dollar and up to 1.7 times the speedup compared to its previous version. Each TPU v5e chip can perform up to 393 trillion int8 operations per second, enabling complex models to make quick predictions. A TPU v5e pod offers up to 100 billion int8 operations per second or 100 PetaOps of computational power (source: Google Cloud).
Google TPU also maximizes resources with scalable AI infrastructure. Alongside the advanced machine learning capabilities, they offer various security and identity management services such as Cloud IAM, Assured Workloads, Confidential Computing, Security Command Center, Mandiant Products & Services, Chronicle Security Operations, Secret Manager, and Cloud Identity (source: Google Cloud). Furthermore, TensorFlow, JAX, and PyTorch can be run on the TPU-VM.
Google's mission with Google TPU is to empower businesses and organizations of all sizes to harness the power of AI, making machine learning more accessible and efficient through their innovative hardware solutions and comprehensive ecosystem (source: Google Cloud).
